We focus on learning through sensory experiences.
We take part in daily sensory circuit activities, sand and water play, role play and weekly dough disco, squiggle and wiggle and action songs.
Our Summer term our topic is ‘Teddy’s Adventure.
Throughout this topic we will be focussing on stories associated with bears including ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ and ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you see?’
We will be learning: number songs and rhymes, sequencing stories, bears in stories and information books, learning to count with 1-1 correspondence and developing knowledge of height, weight and capacity.
Ways you can help at home:
· Join Class Dojo to make sure you get important messages about how your child is doing and talk to them about the dojo points they receive.
· We will be sending home a weekly family activity which is meant to be fun for all the family and will also help your child to learn about fairy tales and stories.
· Please send any interesting objects related to our topic to school (not valuable items, please).
· Please listen to your child reading at home (a Reading Record is provided for you to make comments) and return on the day stated.
· Read your child a bedtime story.
· Get outdoors – go for a walk, grow vegetables or flowers etc. · Join the local library and encourage your child to visit regularly and choose new books.
